This is a WP Plugin that will take any text you pass to the imgProtectr() template tag and put an image with the specified text in it’s place. This is primarily intended for use in templates where you would have an email address displayed. You can see a live example of ImgProtectr at work in the sidebar of my podcast website where my email is listed. ImgProtectr uses TrueType Fonts. I’ve included Times New Roman in the download, but if you want to use something else, just get the TTF file and rename it to imgprotectr.ttf and upload to wp-plugins with the script. Then, ta-da, you’re done.
As an added bonus – any text that you pass to the imgProtectr() function is encoded so that a bot couldn’t just sniff the link and find it.
