“Jerome’s Keywords” is a plugin for WordPress 1.5.x and 2.0 and to associate keywords with your posts. The plugin lets you do the following:

1. Adds a field to the post & page editing screens for entering or editing keywords. Separate all keywords with commas — spaces are okay, so you can enter multi-word “key phrases” too, just don’t use commas.
2. Implements a local keyword/tag system! Readers can click on a post’s keyword/tag link to see other posts with the same tag. It’s a simple but effective way of letting users find content that interests them.
3. Index your tags with Technorati. Normally if you’re listed on Technorati they’ll only pick up your categories as tags. With this plugin, your keywords show up in their tag pages too.
4. Create a local tag cosmos. Now your site can be just as cool as Technorati or Flickr.
5. Add keywords to your page header: e.g. The meta keywords tag is no longer used by most search engines, but this is an easy way to create a relevant keywords tag regardless.

The aim of the plugin is to help people keep up to date with new wordpress version releases. (For more info see the original plugin announcement.)

The plugin takes a simple approach to get the users attention. Once activated it checks an XML-RPC webservice for update news displaying a message at the top of every page in the wordpress admin user-interface. It will check for an update to the message every 15 mins with an additional check being kicked off if the installed wordpress version changes so as to give instant feedback on upgrades.

This was a fun one to write. What if you wanted to start over again? Just wipe the slate clean and start blogging without any baggage. Well, that’s actually hard to do unless you’re comfortable using the mysql client on the command line (or phpMyAdmin).

So I whipped up a little plugin that does just that, and no more. Install it, activate it, and you’re just a single click away from blogging salvation (or is it purgatory?). In other words, this plugin gives you the power to delete all your blog posts from the database in one fell swoop. You can also use it to delete categories, comments, links, and custom fields, as well as users and blog settings.
